Any lingering questions about Support at Home?
After several years of planning, the government’s new Support at Home
program commenced on 1 November 2025. Although it replaced the Home Care
Packages program, many of the previous HCP features will remain in place for
participants who were assessed and approved for a package before 31 October
2025.
Whilst we have provided important information about the changes at key points
along the way, you may still have some lingering questions. To help you answer
these questions, we have created a list of resources that are available on the My
Aged Care website, where you can find a series of resources and fact sheets for
participants explaining the Support at Home program.
The most detailed information is contained in the Support at Home
Participant Guide:
https://www.myagedcare.gov.au/aged-care-programs/support-at-home-program
The main information sheets cover topics such as:
- Care Management
- Classifications and Budgets
- Participant Contributions
- Financial Hardship Assistance
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- Assistive Technology & Home Modifications (AT-HM) Scheme
You can call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422, and they can post the fact sheets to you, or please ask one of our friendly staff if you need some assistance.
The government resources are quite generic, so if you want further detailed
information about exactly how you will be affected by the changes, please reach
out directly to your Care Partner to help go over what it means for you
